About the Ozaki Laboratory

At the Ozaki Laboratory, we theoretically analyze the transfer phenomena of heat, mass, and air in urban and architectural spaces to elucidate the physical phenomena within the built environment. Building upon the foundation of architectural physics, we focus on “residential environment design” that achieves excellent energy efficiency, durability, and comfort, alongside “architectural functional design” that utilizes renewable energy and advanced equipment.

Grounded in numerical simulation and heat and mass transfer theory, our goal is to scientifically design eco-friendly, highly habitable buildings, including Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB), ecological architecture, and biophilic design. Furthermore, by comprehensively integrating human, building, and equipment systems, we are advancing the development of “spatial systems engineering” adapted to local climates and lifestyles, as well as establishing guidelines for its implementation.

Professor Akihito Ozaki Profile

He analyzes the transfer phenomena of heat, mass, and air in the built environment and researches the formation mechanisms of complex architectural environments. Utilizing numerical analysis and experimental methods, his research targets residential environment design that excels in energy efficiency, comfort, and durability, as well as highly functional design that utilizes renewable energy. His main themes include energy-efficient passive systems and high-efficiency equipment, environmental design of advanced architecture, condensation prevention and humidity control, energy consumption prediction for urban areas and buildings, and global warming countermeasures.
