FAQs
About ThermalOne
Please use Rhinoceros 8 version 8SR12 or later.
Due to the limitations of the calculation programme, the supported operating system is currently Windows only
Creating Building Models
As circular (organic) shapes cannot be calculated, please approximate them as polygons. Polygons of up to 100 sides are supported.
Depending on the font size settings in Rhinoceros, the numbers may be difficult to see. Please increase the font size and check again. Please also check that the model’s unit settings are set to ‘metres (m)’.
Calculations are possible using either centre-to-centre or clear dimensions. However, to ensure consistency with the overall building dimensions, we recommend using centre-to-centre dimensions.
Errors during calculation execution
Immediately after downloading, security settings may prevent the THERB UI from launching the calculation program. Please double-click the calculation program to launch it.
About the Calculation Results
In ThermalOne, heat gain is defined as a positive value. Consequently, the cooling load (which removes heat from the room) is displayed as a negative value. Conversely, the heating load is displayed as a positive value.
Currently, we do not support individual configuration of display settings, including the colour of the graph lines.
Installation
Please see the “Troubleshooting” section of the README_EN.txt included in the downloaded ZIP.
On some Windows 11 PCs, Smart App Control may block execution, and it needs to be turned off in Windows Security settings. (Code signing support is in preparation.)
